Take the Work out of Homework (Part 2)

At Home, In the Classroom

Last week, we told you how easy assigning homework is on IXL.  Now we want show you how simple it is to grade it—because you don’t need to!

When students practice on IXL, they get immediate feedback on their answers.  For every question a student answers incorrectly, we provide a detailed explanation for how to solve it.  This way, students can quickly understand and correct their mistakes, rather than having to wait to learn that they misunderstood a particular problem type, or even an entire skill.

IXL’s real-time reports don’t miss a beat.  To see if your students completed their homework, you can use the Class Goals report, which gives you information like how much time students spent practicing and the number of problems they did.  To see how students actually performed on the homework, check out the Recent Skills report.  You’ll immediately know if a review session is in order, or if your class is ready to move on to the next topic.

With IXL, you can look forward to a whole new homework experience for you and your class!

I have been assigning 1 hour of work on ixl per week. Some students are complaining that they logged on to ixl and worked, but their time is not reflected. Is there a delay time in the reporting? Does working on a phone or ipad prevent the minutes from showing up? Can anything else interfere with the reports (students not logging off with the “log off button”?)
