Using IXL games at home

Here are a few ways we recommend using IXL games to enhance your child’s education.

Additional enrichment

IXL games are a great way to give your learner some extra practice in a topic they’re working on. For example, is your child learning order of operations? High-Stakes Heist will task them with solving equations in the correct order to crack a safe code. Are they learning about the different parts of speech? Parts of Speech Quest will test their understanding as they adventure through a fantasy kingdom.

Games are especially good at helping kids learn during weekends and over breaks, keeping them sharp and minimizing vacation “slide.”

Reward

Your child is sure to find at least one game that they just can’t wait to play again! You can use those games as rewards to celebrate reaching a goal or completing a task.

Friendly competition

Some games, like Clear It Addition, will keep score as learners play. Challenge your child to beat their old high score, or set up a friendly head-to-head competition with a sibling or peer to give them some extra motivation.

Math games in Spanish

More than 150 IXL math games are available in Spanish! This means Spanish-speaking students can use IXL games to make strides in math in a fun and engaging way. Go to the math games landing pages for Pre-K through 5th grade and filter for Spanish games to get started.
