We hear all the time that students love to earn IXL awards—so we’re expanding awards to teachers! Introducing IXL Badges, an exciting new way for you to have fun teaching with IXL and celebrate your many accomplishments.
Just like your students can earn IXL awards for their learning achievements, you can collect badges for all the ways you help your students achieve! Everything from starting a Group Jam to using the Trouble Spots report can earn you a badge. Whether you’re trying something new or coming back to your favorite feature, you’ll see your badge collection grow!
Want to take earning badges to the next level? Turn collecting into competing and challenge yourself to see how much you can achieve! Whether you’re in friendly competition with fellow teachers or up against your personal best, there’s always an opportunity to go for glory.
Ready to start racking up IXL Badges? Here’s what you need to know about this fun feature:
Get to know your IXL Badge collection
To get started, head over to your “My IXL” tab and click “Badges” to open up your badge overview. If you’re an IXL veteran, you might even see badges you’ve already earned from your past activity on the platform!

From here, you can jump into your collections for each type of award: Exploration, Weekly Streaks, and Milestone badges.
Exploration badges
Have fun exploring more of IXL! As you discover different parts of the platform and deepen your engagement, you’ll begin to fill up the “Exploration” section of your badge collection. From pinning a skill plan to sharing a quiz with another teacher, you’ll earn badges for digging into the powerful IXL teaching tools and resources available to you.

Plus, be on the lookout for hidden badges! They’ll remain locked until you earn a related badge first. For an added challenge, try being the first in your school to reveal and earn all your hidden badges!

Weekly Streaks badges
Team up with your students to keep meaningful learning on a roll! Weekly Streaks champion class consistency by celebrating for how many consecutive weeks at least half of your students have met these practice and assessment goals:
- Answered 15 questions per week in IXL skills
- Answered 10 questions per week in the IXL Flex Diagnostic and/or IXL LevelUp™ Diagnostic

Reach these goals in your class week after week, and watch your practice and assessment streaks soar. The longer the streak, the more badges you’ll earn to mark each accomplishment. Start small at two weeks, then see how far your class can go!

Be sure to track your class’s progress to keep your streaks going strong. Your next achievement is always within reach!
Milestone badges
Unlock the titles of Quiz Whiz, Suggestion Sage, Group Jam Guru, and Leaderboard Legend! Every time you come back to your favorite IXL feature, you’re one step closer to earning a Milestone badge. These badges are organized into ten levels, and you’ll earn them by assigning quizzes, suggesting skills, and completing Group Jams and leaderboards with your class.

Get ready to feel the rush of leveling up when you pass each Milestone! Reach Suggestion Sage level 1 by starring five skills, or become a Milestone medalist and see how quickly you can rise through the ranks.
Go the extra mile by obtaining level 10 in a Milestone achievement—or maybe all four!

Celebrate your IXL accomplishments
From your first IXL Quiz to your 200th Leaderboard, take pride in everything you’ve achieved! Come back to your collection often to check out the new badges you’ve earned, and see your progress come to life. Each IXL Badge represents the ways you’ve personalized learning in your classroom.

And, every badge comes with a downloadable image for you to share!

Take your collection to the next level
Here are a few ideas to make earning badges even more fun:
- Cheer each other on: Celebrating is better with friends! Share your newly earned badges with fellow teachers and encourage one another to reach for the next achievement.
- Start a friendly competition across classrooms: Compete against your colleagues for collection completion, race to level 10 of a Milestone badge, or see who can maintain their assessment streak for the longest stretch.
- Share your IXL story: Let your networks know about the new learning tool you just found, or share how your favorite feature has made a positive impact in your classroom! Add your badge images to social media posts and use the hashtag #IXLBadges.
