Distinctive Schools, a network of charter schools in Chicago and the Twin Cities, faced a challenge when they implemented the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) in 2012. They wanted to find tools that would support their diverse population of students and track progress towards new learning goals. The solution came in the form of IXL, which helped them transition to the CCSS while empowering teachers and meeting individual student needs.

IXL Math Powers over 150 Percent Growth on MAP Benchmark Assessment

Saint Lucas Lutheran School is a private K–8 school with a highly diverse student population that includes many families living in poverty as well as more traditional private school families. When Chris Luebke joined the staff in the fall of 2016, his middle school math students were all over the board in their mastery of grade level math skills. He brought in IXL Math to supplement his core curriculum and provide his students with individualized math instruction.

IXL Lends a Hand to Help Students Write Personal Statements for College

On October 22, 12 IXL employees volunteered as writing tutors at 826 Valencia’s 9th annual Personal Statement Weekend. At Personal Statement Weekend, under-resourced San Francisco Unified School District students can get assistance with drafting, revising, and polishing their college application essays. The event took place at Mission High School, and over two hundred local high school students participated this year.
