Just Released! A Whole New Way to Explore IXL

Personalized recommendations suggest the perfect skills to practice

September 13, 2016

At Home, In the Classroom, For Admins

Ever wondered what to work on? Looking for the exact skills to help you overcome a learning roadblock? Well, IXL has released a brand new recommendations feature that does all that and more!

IXL’s new personalized recommendations empower students to take ownership of their learning by helping them make smart choices about what to practice.

Custom recommendations based on your individual practice

Discovering new things to learn has never been as much fun as with IXL’s Recommendations page! A visual wall of recommended skills based on students’ practice history provides a curated list of skills just for them. Different types of recommendations motivate students to continue working on skills they’ve practiced but haven’t mastered, encourage them to practice supporting skills for topics they’ve struggled on, inspire students to try out brand new topics, and more.

Timely recommendations to support your learning

In addition, recommendations at the bottom of the practice screen help students reinforce foundational concepts. If students are feeling out of their depth as they practice a skill, simply click on one of the recommendations to begin practicing it! After working on these supporting skills, students will feel prepared to take on the original skill. (And no worries about losing your place—IXL tracks the path taken between skills so you can easily return to where you started).

Supporting skills

With this new feature, students are empowered to create their own learning path. To get started, check out your personalized recommendations page, or simply begin practicing any math skill!

curious to know the cost per student or how the fees work. I am looking for a computer math program for very low special education students that will export progress reports for progress monitoring.

Hi Marlin—Our classroom memberships start at $249 for 1 teacher and 25 students, and the membership gives you unlimited practice and access to all grade levels, as well as access to reports on IXL Analytics. If you’d like to chat more about your specific math education needs, you can email us at support@ixl.com or give us a call at (855) 255-8800. You can also find out more about our memberships here: https://www.ixl.com/membership/. Thank you!
