Major releases
Universal Screeners for Reading Foundations and Reading Comprehension
Administrators now have access to two new Universal Reading Screeners! These fast, reliable assessments quickly identify students who need English intervention to ensure every student is on the path toward becoming a confident reader.
- With the Reading Foundations Screener for grades K-3, you can assess students’ reading level and flag any students at risk of reading difficulties, including dyslexia. The screener ensures teachers know when to provide further evaluation and support.
- The Reading Comprehension Screener for grades 3-8 assesses how well students understand what they read.
Administrators can set up a screener window for their school or district to get started, typically at the beginning of the year and up to five times throughout the year.
On average, the Reading Screeners only take about 20 minutes to complete and are capped at 30 minutes.
Once students complete the screeners, reports are available at both the teacher and admin level. Both reading screeners are available on all US edition site accounts with an ELA subscription.

Standards Proficiency Overview and Standard Proficiency Details Reports for School and District Standards Reporting
Now, you can easily track progress toward standards proficiency across your entire school or district with IXL’s brand-new Standards Proficiency reports!
These reports provide full visibility into how your students are currently performing on your state’s standards. You can dive into the specific standards you care about, and track progress down to the class and student level.
- The Standards Proficiency Overview report shows how students are performing on all of your state’s math or ELA standards. Each standard has a “Progress to Proficiency” score, which indicates how well your students are making progress toward reaching a proficient understanding of that standard.
- The Standard Proficiency Details report allows you to zoom into a single standard to track students’ performance in all of the skills aligned to that standard.
Together, these reports help you understand where to provide instructional support on standards, ensure that your students are making progress toward proficiency, and get your school or district well prepared for end-of-year testing.
These new reports are available for US accounts for both math and ELA and are located under the “Skill Proficiency” tab for both School and District Analytics. Users can also export the data from either report.

Feature updates
LevelUp Assessment data available in the Progress & Growth and Student Summary reports
Teachers and students can now see IXL LevelUp Math Assessment data reflected in their Progress & Growth (available for teachers) and Student Summary (available for teachers and students) reports! These reports now enable teachers to easily track math growth over time, and allow students to see and feel motivated by their own progress.
The IXL LevelUp Assessment is a unified solution that enables students to move seamlessly from assessment back into personalized practice. Created for both benchmarking and real-time insights, the IXL LevelUp Math Assessment is a powerful tool for understanding how students are performing compared to grade-level expectations throughout the year.
The updated reports now show pinpointed IXL LevelUp Assessment scores from both real-time mode and Benchmark windows. LevelUp data will populate the reports in the same way as the Classic Diagnostic.

IXL LevelUp Math Assessment in Live Classroom
Keep track of students working on the IXL LevelUp Math Assessment from Live Classroom! As students work through the assessment, their tiles will show the number of questions they’ve answered as well as if they’ve gone idle and stopped working.

IXL LevelUp Math Benchmark standards reports for more states
Teachers in Kentucky, Missouri, and Oklahoma now have custom-built standards reports for the LevelUp Math Benchmark aligned to their state standards!
With the standards report, teachers can track their students’ knowledge of state standards based on their scores from the math benchmark assessment.
Stay tuned as we continue to release additional state standards reports in the coming months.
LevelUp Math Benchmark, Reading Screeners, and Common Assessments on the Teacher Dashboard
Teachers now have all of their IXL assessments at their fingertips with the addition of the IXL LevelUp Math Benchmark, IXL Reading Screeners, and IXL Common Assessments on the “Assessments” tab of their teacher dashboard.
Teachers can instantly see which assessments are ongoing and which ones are starting soon. Plus, students’ current Diagnostic or LevelUp Math Benchmark levels and Common Assessment results are available at a glance!
The assessment section on the dashboard includes:
- IXL Diagnostic: View student diagnostic levels at-a-glance or click into the report to view your students’ strand analysis. Teachers with a combination of the Real-Time ELA and Math diagnostics as well as the IXL LevelUp Math Assessment can view all results.
- IXL LevelUp Math Assessment: Teachers with access to the LevelUp Math Assessment can see their students’ current levels and information about active Benchmark windows.
- Screener levels: Teachers can toggle between the K-8 math, K-3 reading foundations, and 3-8 reading comprehension screeners to view student levels on the most recent screener for each subject.
- Common Assessments: Click into current or past Common Assessments results reports.
This update is only available on the US edition.

Weekly number of skills proficient on the teacher dashboard
Teachers have an easier way to see their students’ weekly number of skills proficient on the teacher dashboard!
From the “Analytics” tab, teachers can toggle between questions answered and skills proficient to view their students’ weekly practice activity. This chart enables teachers to track students’ performance against IXL’s research-backed goal of two skills proficient per week.

Co-teacher support on leaderboards
Enhance collaboration between co-teachers with leaderboards for co-taught classes!
Once a leaderboard is created, all of the class’s co-teachers will be able to view the leaderboard and will receive a notification about leaderboard completion. Co-teachers can also duplicate the leaderboard and access certificates and Top 10 lists.
School-wide leaderboards now also reflect co-taught classes. When teachers view school-wide leaderboards, their co-taught classes, plus students rostered to their co-taught classes, will be highlighted.
Update Common Assessments after publishing
Enjoy greater flexibility when implementing Common Assessments! Administrators can now update some settings after assessments are published and approved, such as pushing back the end date of a Common Assessment window to account for a snow day. (This update also applies to “Universal Assessments” on international editions).
We know you can’t prepare for everything, so this update makes it easier to adjust as needed. Primary administrators can now make changes to:
- Start and end dates
- Question order
- Result visibility for teachers and students

Diagnostic Snapshot mode available for the Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia editions
The Real-Time Diagnostic can now be used in Snapshot mode on IXL’s Canada, United Kingdom, and Australia editions!
Diagnostic Snapshot mode enables administrators to schedule school, district, or trust-wide Diagnostic assessment windows to gather benchmark data up to five times a year. With the Snapshot report, administrators and teachers can track how students are progressing over the course of the year and provide personalized action plans to close learning gaps.
New language support: Chuukese, Marshallese, and Mongolian
IXL provides comprehensive language support for 60+ languages, enabling all students to make progress in essential skills, even if they are still building their English language abilities.
We recently added support for additional languages:
- Chuukese: A Micronesian language spoken in the islands of Chuuk.
- Marshallese: A Micronesian language spoken in the Marshall Islands.
- Mongolian: A language spoken by millions of people in Mongolia and Inner Mongolia.
