New grade and year levels for CA, UK and AU science
IXL’s Canadian, UK, and Australian science curricula have been extended to high school and later secondary school levels! These editions of IXL Science now support the following grades/years:
- Canada: Grades 9 and 10
- UK: Years 10 and 11
- Australia: Years 9 and 10
This release includes over 500 new science skills, covering topics such as physical science, life science, Earth and space science, scientific inquiry, and engineering design. They’re aligned with Canadian provincial curricula and with UK and Australian national curricula.
Additionally, the UK skills are designed to help prepare students for GCSE exams, work with a range of different exam syllabi, and are aligned to biology, chemistry, and physics GCSE content.

Feature updates
Incoming Common Assessment results sharable with teachers
Admins can now grant teachers access to Common Assessment results as student submissions come in, instead of having to wait until the assessment has ended. This update makes it easier for teachers to act on assessment results with less delay.
When editing a Common Assessment, admins can select a new option to show results to teachers as students submit, which lets teachers view the full report (both scores and answers) as results come in. Options to control results students can see remain the same.

Language support expanded to 120+ languages
IXL now provides language support for more than 120 languages, enabling all students to make progress in essential skills, even if they are still building their English language abilities.
We recently added support for these languages:
- Basque
- Catalan
- Czech
- Estonian
- Finnish
- Galician
- Icelandic
- Latvian
- Luxembourgish
- Macedonian
- Maltese
- Mam
- Nahuatl
- Romani
- Sicilian
- Slovenian
- Venetian
- Zapotec
Additionally, the 11 languages in bold now also have audio support. With the click of a button, students can hear text in IXL math, science, and social studies skills read aloud. This brings our total number of audio-supported languages to 82!
To turn on language support for learners, go to your Profile & Settings page and “Enable translation support” for select students.
New fact sets for the Fluency Zone
The Fluency Zone is an all-in-one hub dedicated to helping learners master math facts. We’ve added four new fact sets to the Fluency Zone, rounding out our coverage of the most commonly taught math facts in grades 1-4. The new fact sets are:
- Addition and subtraction within 10
- Multiplication facts up to 12
- Division facts up to 12

LevelUp™ ELA Diagnostic standards reports for 7 more states
We’ve released standards reports for the LevelUp™ ELA Diagnostic for the following states:
- Arkansas
- Idaho

Teachers in these states will now be able to track their students’ knowledge of state standards after completing an ELA assessment.
LevelUp Math Diagnostic standards reports for Kansas and Ohio high school standards
We’ve added LevelUp Math Diagnostic standards reports for Kansas’ and Ohio’s high school math standards. For Kansas, the new courses included are Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. For Ohio, they are Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, and Integrated Math 1, 2, and 3.
Teachers in these states will now be able to track their students’ knowledge of high school state standards after completing a LevelUp Math assessment. We will continue to release additional states’ high school standards reports in the coming months.
IXL Quizzes and Common Assessments can be renamed
Teachers and admins now have the ability to update the names of IXL Quizzes, Common Assessments, and Quiz Library resources that are active, scheduled, or past. Educators may want to do this to keep their custom assessments organized, or to correct a mistake after the assessment is published. This additional flexibility and control alleviates the need to make a new copy of the assessment or reach out to IXL support to make the change.
Teachers will find a new “Edit settings” menu option for any quiz they’ve created, which now has options to update the name, which results are shown to students, and question order for the quiz, all in one place. Admins will see the option to update the name for Common Assessments in the existing “Edit settings” menu option.

Vocab Zone improved on mobile
The Vocab Zone is a space where students can explore thousands of vocabulary lists curated to support vocab development across middle and high school texts and topics. We’ve updated the Vocab Zone to be mobile responsive, enhancing its look and usability on mobile devices. Learners accessing the Vocab Zone from a browser on their phones and tablets will be able to quickly and easily flip through flashcards, building their vocabularies on the go!
Family account skill plan pinning for individual children
Parents can now pin skill plans for individual children! Previously, parents could only pin a skill plan for all children, but now they’re able to hover over the pin icon to specify exactly which child can see which skill plan.
We’re excited to be able to provide more customization to the family experience so children can see the skill plans that are truly meant for their learning path! This update is available in all English editions.
