Major releases
Instant Review
Review the exact topics your students need with IXL’s Instant Review! This new classroom engagement tool pulls from students’ shared Trouble Spots—the precise concepts the students are currently stuck on. It instantly transforms these Trouble Spots into an engaging whole-class activity, so teachers can jump straight into meaningful review without needing to identify focus areas on their own.
Instant Review is located in the My IXL tab. To get started, teachers can select the class and subjects they want to focus on, and Instant Review will generate a list of relevant Trouble Spots. Teachers can then guide the class through the selected questions together. Instant Review is available for all subjects in all English-language editions of IXL.

Fluency Zone & Raceway
The U.S. edition of IXL has a new hub to help students build the key skills of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division! The Fluency Zone offers a complete toolkit for developing fact fluency, serving up a variety of activities including videos, games, worksheets, and skills to support every step of an IXLer’s math fact journey.
It’s also home to the new IXL Raceway, which hosts fast-paced math challenges that get learners to solve as many problems as they can in one minute. For teachers and parents, these challenges help track students’ solving speed, accuracy, and growth over time.

Feature updates
Previous year results for Common Assessments and Quiz Library
We have updated our administrator reports for Common Assessments and Quiz Library resources to support data for assessments from the previous school year. The Common Assessment Results, Common Assessment Item Analysis, Quiz Resource Results, and Quiz Resource Item Analysis reports now provide a historical record of student performance, allowing administrators to make decisions based on assessments from the previous school year!
Filters and search for IXL Quizzes and Quiz Library
Teachers’ IXL Quizzes dashboards, as well as teacher and administrator pages for Quiz Library, now have filters and search bars! This update makes it easier to quickly find and manage custom assessments that educators are looking for.
Teachers can filter their Quizzes via subject and author, and teachers and administrators can filter the Quiz Library by subject. For both pages, educators can search for a quiz by name.

LevelUp ELA Diagnostic standards report for 5 more states
We’ve released IXL LevelUp Diagnostic for ELA standards reports for the following states:

New language support: Fulani (Latin), Georgian, and Tajik
IXL provides comprehensive support for 100+ languages, enabling all students to make progress in essential skills, even if they are still building their English language abilities.
We recently added support for additional languages:
- Fulani (Latin): A Senegambian language spoken primarily in West African countries, written using the Latin alphabet.
- Georgian: A Kartvelian language native to the country of Georgia.
- Tajik: A variety of Farsi spoken by ethnic Tajiks in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Georgian also has audio support, joining 70 other languages for which we support audio! With the click of a button, students who speak Georgian can hear text in IXL math, science, and social studies read aloud.
To turn on language support for learners, go to your Profile & Settings page and “Enable translation support” for select students.
Teacher notifications for IXL Badges
Teachers who earn an IXL Badge will now see a celebratory notification in the notifications center! For now, notifications are only sent for earning Exploration badges, with support for Weekly Streak and Milestone badges coming soon.
Updated filters layout on all school and district reports
We’ve improved the visibility and utility of filters for school and district reports! We have increased the number of filters shown when a report initially loads, as well as updated the ordering of the filters to be consistent.

Live School highlights skills practiced from Diagnostic Action Plans and skills suggested by teachers
We’ve updated the Live School report to give admins more information about the skills students are working on! Admins will now see a blue flag icon if students are practicing a skill from their Diagnostic Action Plan, and a star icon if they’re practicing a skill suggested by their teacher. We’re excited to provide administrators more confidence and visibility into their students’ practice.

New math skills
We’ve released a few new math skills for high school:
- Graphs of inverse functions (Algebra 2): Students identify the graph of the inverse function of a given function. This builds upon students’ previous understanding of geometric transformations and has them apply it to the algebraic topic of function inverses. Acting as a stepping stone, this key process prepares students to later explore the foundations of important, new inverse functions, like logarithmic and inverse trigonometric functions.
- Verify solutions to differential equations and Solve higher-order initial value problems (Calculus): Students learn about one of the most powerful applications of Calculus to the real world: differential equations. These fundamental skills help students build understanding of what it means to solve a differential equation, and have them start to find solutions for themselves.
New Spanish language arts skills
We’ve added seven new Spanish language arts skills! A few highlights are:
- Leer ficción realista con ilustraciones [Read realistic fiction with illustrations] (Grade 3): Students read charming, illustrated stories. As they read, they are asked questions that require them to analyze key details and make inferences.
- Determinar los temas de cuentos cortos [Determine the themes of short stories] (Grade 5): Students determine the theme of creative and whimsical short stories. The part 2 questions ask students to select the quote in the story that best supports the theme.
- ¿Qué oración es más formal? [Which sentence is more formal?] (Grade 5): Students are presented with a pair of sentences, and they are asked to choose the sentence that is more formal. The distractor sentences include informality markers such as idioms, conversational language, and abbreviations.
New science skills
We’ve released two new high school chemistry skills:
- Properties of electromagnetic waves (Chemistry): Students engage with eye-catching diagrams and photographs as they learn about the different forms of electromagnetic radiation. Students analyze the qualitative and quantitative relationships between the wavelength, frequency, speed, and energy of an electromagnetic wave.
- Identify a limiting reactant and calculate the amount of a product (Chemistry): Students use reactant quantities from a chemical reaction to identify which is the limiting reactant. Students then calculate the amount of a product of the reaction.
New social studies skills
We’ve released four new skills for high school social studies:
- Government and politics (Civics): Students investigate the basic principles of government, including its purposes, forms, and institutions. Students also analyze the definition of politics, different types of political actors, and political values.
- Media literacy: credibility (Civics): Students learn how to assess the reliability of a news article, focusing on bias, omissions, credible sources, and corroboration. Students then apply these concepts to a case study by evaluating the reliability of a sample new article.
- The Revolutionary War: part II (U.S. History): Students learn about events in the Revolutionary War from 1778 to the signing of the Treaty of Paris in 1783. Students analyze the perspectives and experiences of women, African American people, and Native American groups.
- The Civil War: part II (U.S. History): Students investigate the events in the Civil War from 1863 until the war’s conclusion in 1865. Students analyze the experiences of soldiers and political leaders and learn how the war changed U.S. society.

Takeoff Florida edition
We’re thrilled to announce the release of our second state-specific version of Takeoff, this time for Florida! It joins our first state-specific version of Takeoff, which was made to support California.
Here’s what sets the Florida version apart:
Built with the Florida B.E.S.T. standards and benchmarks in mind: Takeoff FL was built from the ground up with Florida’s learning expectations in mind. Not only does this edition address all content standards, it also incorporates all of the Mathematical Thinking and Reasoning standards (MTRs). Both standard benchmarks and MTR alignments can be found at the unit and lesson level.
Bilingual vocab glossaries: Specifically for Florida, we’ve also added vocabulary glossaries in English, as well as bilingual versions in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, Vietnamese, French, Arabic, Chinese, Russian, Tagalog, and Urdu (the most common home languages in Florida). These glossaries include academic vocabulary that students should develop throughout the year or may come across and need to look up. They also include definitions tailored to Florida’s needs. (Did you know that Florida uses a special definition of trapezoid?)
Family letters: We also wrote letters that can be sent home to families describing what their students will be learning in each unit. These can be printed and sent home to help keep parents and guardians informed about their children’s learning. Family letters are available in the most common languages in Florida—English, Spanish, Haitian Creole, and Portuguese—and can be found on the additional resources tab for each unit.
The Florida edition of Takeoff will start off as opt-in only. Schools and districts that would like to use it can request to switch from the national version. This ensures that educators already using Takeoff can finish the school year without interruption.
New Takeoff slide decks
We recently added a new type of material for Takeoff, Takeoff instructional slides! Teachers can use these instructional slide decks to teach Takeoff lessons alongside provided student materials. We’ve added new instructional slides, meaning our slide decks now cover the following units:
- Kindergarten Units 1-4
- Grade 1 Units 1-4
- Grade 2 Units 1-4
- Grade 3 Units 1-4
- Grade 4 Units 1-6
- Grade 5 Units 1-6
These slides are available as downloadable PowerPoint files in the Materials section of each lesson. We’ll continue releasing slide decks throughout the year.
Takeoff alignment to South Dakota state standards
We’ve added alignments for the South Dakota Content Standards for math to our K-5 Takeoff curriculum. When signed into a Takeoff account from South Dakota, users will see their state standards in all the usual places, such as on each grade level’s landing page and at the top of each unit and lesson.
New math skill for the UK edition
We’ve released a new Year 7 skill in the UK edition! In Calculate speed, distance or time: word problems, students leverage the relationship between speed, distance, and time to compute missing quantities in word problem scenarios. This builds upon students’ previous understanding of ratios and rates and helps them build confidence applying their knowledge to real-world situations.
