Exciting updates to IXL’s diagnostics

At IXL, we’re constantly building best-in-class solutions to meet the unique needs of your school and district. That’s why, this past fall, we introduced a new, state-of-the-art, standards-aligned diagnostic assessment for math. 

At the same time, we know how much educators enjoy our existing diagnostic, and are committed to keeping it available as a flexible, engaging option. Now, educators can choose from two innovative diagnostic assessments! 

As such, we’ve updated the names of our two IXL Diagnostics to provide more clarity and better reflect their flexibility. Introducing: 

  1. The IXL LevelUp™ Diagnostic for PreK-12 math (previously the IXL LevelUp Math Benchmark Assessment), and 
  2. The IXL Flex Diagnostic for PreK-12 math and ELA (previously the IXL Classic Diagnostic or IXL Real-Time Diagnostic).

With these two powerful options, IXL ensures you have the precise data you need to drive student success. Read on to learn more about each assessment and get a sneak peek of what’s to come!

IXL LevelUp™ Diagnostic 

The IXL LevelUp Diagnostic is our new standards-aligned diagnostic assessment, with full Spanish-language support. Crafted to meet the highest standards of validity, accuracy, and reliability, it’s your go-to assessment for rigorous benchmarking. 

The LevelUp Diagnostic is currently available in Benchmark mode and Real-Time mode for PreK-12 math.

Coming soon: Enhancements to the IXL LevelUp Diagnostic

We’re enhancing the IXL LevelUp Diagnostic to provide even more value for you and your students! This year, we’re adding additional grade levels, subject areas, key features, and more. Here’s what’s in store for the LevelUp Diagnostic:

  • This summer: PreK-12 ELA 
  • This year: National norms for PK-8 math

IXL LevelUp Diagnostic reports 

The IXL LevelUp Diagnostic offers comprehensive reporting for administrators and teachers.

Administrator-level reports include:

  • LevelUp Diagnostic Results (previously LevelUp Assessment Results)

IXL Flex Diagnostic 

The IXL Flex Diagnostic offers an innovative, student-friendly approach to assessment, while maintaining rigorous standards of validity and accuracy. It is nationally normed and research-proven to be a strong predictor of student achievement. 

The Flex Diagnostic is available in Benchmark mode (previously known as Snapshot mode) and Real-Time mode for PreK-12 math and ELA.

IXL Flex Diagnostic reports 

The Flex Diagnostic is accompanied by robust reporting for administrators and teachers.

Administrator-level reports include:

  • Flex Diagnostic Results (previously Diagnostic Results)
