A homepage for teachers
When you sign into IXL from your teacher account, the teacher dashboard is the first thing you’ll see. From the dashboard, you can quickly access classroom engagement tools, manage assignments, view assessment data, and monitor students’ progress. To return to the dashboard, simply click on the “My IXL” tab.

Celebrate students’ achievements
At the top of the dashboard, you’ll be welcomed by an overview of your students’ achievements! The welcome section has high-level stats on the total number of questions students have answered, how students are progressing towards skill mastery, and the time they’ve spent on IXL. These stats can be shared with students to celebrate their progress so far, and help them set goals for the future. Teachers can also enter the Live Classroom from the top of the dashboard and monitor students’ work in real time.

Manage classroom assignments
The “Teacher tools” tab puts all of IXL’s essential instructional resources at your fingertips. It’s easy to see and manage your suggested skills list, including your currently suggested skills and scheduled suggested skills, as well as jump into your pinned skill plans. You can also review student progress on recent quizzes, or dive into quiz management directly from the dashboard.
Plus, it’s easier than ever to access IXL’s classroom engagement tools. On the dashboard, you can quickly open up recent Group Jam reports, or start a new Group Jam. You can also see up-to-date progress on how your students are performing in active Leaderboards, view the final results of a previous Leaderboard, or jump into creating a new learning competition.

Track classroom performance
The dashboard puts data from IXL’s Assessment Suite all in one place to help you accelerate learning growth. From the “Assessment” tab, you can easily see what assessments are active now, how your students are performing, and which assessments are starting soon. The teacher dashboard keeps you in the know on IXL’s assessments being used in your school and district including:
- The IXL Diagnostic for math and English
- The K-8 IXL LevelUp Math Benchmark
- IXL’s Universal Screeners for K-8 math, K-3 reading foundations, and 3-8 reading comprehension
- IXL Common Assessments
When your class has an assessment starting soon you’ll see a notification over the assessment tab letting you know one is coming. And if there’s an assessment in progress, your dashboard will have a green indicator light on the tab and the module with the in progress exam. If your class uses the LevelUp Benchmark, you can hover to review how students performed or click into the full Benchmark Overview report. You can also view your class’ Diagnostic levels at a glance for both math and English, or dive into the full Diagnostic Overview.

For classes using an IXL universal screener, you can quickly see how students are performing in current or completed screeners with options to toggle between results for the three types. And, it’s easy to jump into the Universal screener levels for more details. Plus, you’ll see any current or past Common Assessment results. At the bottom of the tab is a handy schedule of any upcoming IXL assessments scheduled by your school administrator to help you plan ahead.

Monitor students’ progress
From the “Analytics” tab, you can view a helpful overview of your students’ recent progress. You’ll get a short recap of your Skills Practiced report, so that you can see which skills your students have been working on. Plus, you can quickly open up the full report for more insights into student understanding.
With the Trouble Spots overview, you can quickly see the precise concepts your students need help with. By clicking into the report, you’ll get ready-made small groups based on shared needs, complete with the exact materials to focus on for review and reteaching.
You’ll also be able to track your students’ progress towards practice goals, with a breakdown of how many questions your students have answered each week and the number of skills they’ve reached proficiency in.
