Feature updates

Assign Snapshots by courses

Lead and primary administrators can now assign Diagnostic Snapshots by courses! For example, an administrator can now assign a Snapshot to students enrolled in Algebra 2 or all students enrolled in any ELA course. This gives administrators more flexibility to assess specific groups of students.

Teacher filtering in School and District Analytics

School and district administrators will now be able to filter and group reports by any of their rostered teachers. This allows administrators to more easily see teacher data and identify actionable implementation strategies.

Teacher filtering is available in the following School and District Analytics reports:

  • Skill Usage
  • Skill Proficiency
  • Diagnostic Levels
  • Diagnostic Tier Analysis
  • Diagnostic Strands
  • Snapshot Growth
  • Screener Levels

Teachers and students can view time spent in additional activities

IXL offers a robust suite of learning resources, from instructional videos and learning games to assessments and quizzes. Now, in addition to data on IXL skill practice, students and teachers can see students’ time spent across various learning activities on IXL, including:

  • Assessments
  • Quizzes
  • Group Jams
  • Video tutorials
  • Learning games

This new time spent learning stat is displayed in the teacher and student dashboards and Teacher Analytics reports. Hover over the metric to see a breakdown of time in each activity.

Anonymous responses in Group Jam

Teachers have an option to anonymize student responses in Group Jam! This can help students to focus on answering questions without getting distracted by others’ responses.

When applying this setting, teachers can choose to anonymize student responses for students only, or for both students and the teacher.

  • For students only: Students can see who answered, but not whether responses are correct or incorrect.
  • For students and the teacher: Students and the teacher can see who has submitted a response. During question review, student avatars are shown only for correct responses. This option is especially helpful when teachers are projecting the Group Jam on the board for the whole class.

Students can take quizzes on the iPhone app

Students can now complete IXL Quizzes on the iPhone app! Learners can access assigned quizzes on the “From your teacher” page.

Video tutorials are available on iOS apps

All users can now watch video tutorials for supported skills in the IXL iPad and iPhone apps!
